Artifice (ART) is a hero attribute.
Effects[]
- Detecting monsters – Artifice increases a Hero's chance to detect a monster group without being attacked.
- It is generally believed (but not officially confirmed) that a hero sneaks up to a monster group if Random(1, 200) + Artifice + Luck > 100
- Stealing – Artifice increases the chances that a stealing attempt will be successful.
- Attack of Opportunity – Artifice determines the potency of the "Attack of Opportunity" ability possessed by artifice-based heroes.
- The Attack of Opportunity ability gives the hero ART% chance to deal ART% additional damage, where "ART" is the hero's Artifice.
Increasing artifice[]
Permanent increases[]
- Hero classes with artifice as their primary attribute (Cultist, Elf, Rogue) gain +1 artifice every two levels.
- Classes with low initial artifice can train artifice to up to 12 at the Rogues Guild in Lormidia.
- The quests "The Gnome Collector Part II" and "Thallis Fairgrounds" provide options for increasing any one of the five primary attributes.
- The library in the Ruins of Thallis provides the option of increasing any of the five primary attributes, up to three times.

- Sneaky Reinforced Cloak: +10 artifice
- Artifice bonuses are common in class-unique items for artifice-based classes
