The bestiary is a section in the journal that records enemies that the hero has defeated. These enemies are also known as "creatures" or "monsters" (however, the term "monster" is more formally used to denote a specific class of creatures in the bestiary).
Overview[]
Enemies follow the same combat rules as do heroes, with the notable exception that monsters have a simplified set of attributes and minimum and maximum damage value rather than weapon damage values. Enemies may have abilities and use spells, but do not use consumable items. Defeating enemies will grant the hero experience and gold, with the exception of a few enemies that don't drop gold.
The bestiary provides information on the HP, armor, abilities, and spells of defeated enemies, but does not provide most attributes, including intelligence, strength, hand-to-hand, ranged, parry, dodge, and magic resist. For enemies that can also be acquired as followers, these unlisted attributes are known from the followers page. The full list of attributes for enemies that cannot be acquired as followers are not listed anywhere in-game, but can be estimated from combat log observations.
